Halloween!

This year was a lot more fun. Not only did Sawyer understand it better, (he didn't walk into anyones house thinking it was a new friend) he really got into it and would say "trick-or-treat!" and then giggle and say "tank-you!" and walk to the next house eager to repeat...I don't think he cared that much about the candy to be honest, I think he had much more fun just walking around and meeting people and looking at costumes. There were a couple scary monsters that were giving out candy that he wouldn't get near. Just stand back saying "Big monster! I scared!"
Here he is showing us his muscles...
These boys were up really late the night we got these glow in the dark jammies just looking at themselves and each other.
I realize Sawyer was the exact same thing his first Halloween. I'm very original, I know...
But this year I put glow in the dark sticks on their spikes! And I had 2 dragons instead of 1. But Sawyer loves dragons right now...seen How to Train Your Dragon? Well, he has.

You can kinda see the glowing...we're inside in this picture. I got lazy on Wyatt's...Sawyers glowsticks are actually following the up and down of the spikes...it took too long.

Wyatt was only 3 months last Halloween. This time he was RUNNING down the sidewalks!

I felt sad watching Sawyer. He's just seeming so grown-up these days. He is finally using sentences AND he starts pre-school in a couple weeks...where has the time gone?!
Posted by PicasaOur first stop. The Hedlunds!!

Next Halloween will be EVEN BETTER! They will both be old enough to know what to do and what's going on. But it was a lot of fun tonight. Love these boys.
And no. Jim and I are lame. We didn't dress up.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

My Poor Sick Boys

So the past 2 weeks have been AWFUL!! Not only did I turn 30, but on that day Sawyer was just the grumpiest boy EVER!! And the next day he was sick with a temp of 103!! THEN, the next day he started screaming that his ears hurt....I had no car at the time...Jims was in the shop so he had mine. So here I am without a car in the middle of the day with my son screaming in pain. What to do? Call Jim, tell him to come home from work and get our son to the doctor. Ends up he has 2 ear infections. Poor boy. Luckily he seems to be back to normal now. Climbing trees. Picking on Wyatt. Being silly.

But now it's poor Wyatt that is sick. No ear infections, just really yucky cold...or teething? Not sure. But he's absolutely miserable. So, one kid gets better, the next one gets sick. And so do I. So here we are, miserably sitting around the house. Poor us.

Oh. Here is my cheap, yucky plastic stool for the boys in the bathroom.
Before

After.
Much better. And it matches the bathroom now. How cool is it that I already had paper sitting around the house that was almost identical to our shower curtains?

Cold weather stay away

My boys are going to drive me crazy this winter. They live outside. Kansas winters are rediculously cold.
Sawyer rides his bikes EVERYWHERE while poor Wyatt runs after him with a mouth full of dirt. Experts say dirt is good for them, right?

Hey sisters (and brother) remember these bikes? How we used to flip them up-side-down? I love seeing Sawyer on his, it brings back memories.

Wyatt saying bye

Just a little glimpse into Wyatts personality...I know it's really only funny to me, the mom. But he cracks me up at the end of the video when I tell him to come back and he just looks at me like "you gotta be kidding mom" and takes off.

Wyatt and some

Well. I've been meaning to post (show-off) some of the crafty things I've done the past couple of weeks. So here they are...and some of Wyatt.

Ah Wyatt. How many different ways can you possibly fall on your face? Way more than I ever imagined possible. You may not be able to see them well, but he's got bumps and bruises and scratches ALL over his sweet little face. We're thinking of putting Sawyer's old helmet on him for the next couple years...

Ok. So my dining room table was SO SAD! Nothing on it. Nothing on the walls yet. And nothing else in the room other than the table and 4 chairs...very sad, very boring. So I came up with these beauties. I don't have a sewing machine...sad...so I hot-glued. Best part of it all? I had ALL the supplies already!

I told you the room was pathetic. Look at those bare walls. I really need to liven things up. One room at a time though. Also made that lovely fall table "runner". I can't really call it a runner since it doesn't really run the length of the table, I think.

This is random. I thought it was pretty neat. You may just think I'm a nerd. I was changing wyatt in my room and the sun was shining just so...and here is the sweet shadow it cast.

And last for now...my 1 dollar garage sale find. Ugly.

Now BEAUTIFUL!

Anyways. There are plenty more crafty things I've been doing that I'll eventually get around to taking pictures of....Shalane, you've inspired me and made me jealous. I'm buying a sewing machine for my Christmas present.

Boys and their toys.

What's more fun for a guy than big trucks, big tractors, big 4-wheelers and oreos? Nothing.

My brave little man. I was trying to get a picture of him hanging off that rear bar but caught him mid-air instead. It was a really long drop! I couldn't believe he let go! There was a free monster truck rally!

A quick stop at Daddy's work is heaven for this boy. He gets to climb all the toys and nobody yells at him to get off!

Wyatt thinks he's big enough and old enough to roll around the neighborhood on this thing...Sawyer's legs are barely long enough to pedal it. Give it another year little man. But I love the face he's making...classic Wyatt...tough.

There is no better way to end an awesome day of "boy-toys" than eating oreos...and giving me a lovely oreo smile. Oh. And having daddy read Thomas books for like an hour.

I love having boys.
