Christmas!

Oh boy. What to say about Christmas...
It was SOOOOO relaxing! We didn't have to go ANYWHERE! We had 3 whole days of just sitting around in our jammies and enjoying family time. It went by WAY to fast.
Here are the boys Christmas eve watching Frosty the Snowman in their new Thomas jammies. Thanks Jane! Sawyer was hyper-ventilating when he saw them he was SO excited.

The boys LOVE their new hats! Thanks mom! Sawyer goes around saying "grandma Palmer, far away in Utah" with a very dejected look on his face. Poor boy. OH! I forgot to take a video of them with the bugs. They are obsessed! Seriously. I'll do that in the next couple days...

I got the boys these funny bicycling santas...at the dollar store...for a stocking stuffer. So far they play with these more than anything else! Next year I'm only getting silly little cheap gifts.

Tina's Wedding

So we don't have any photos yet. When Tina gets back and finds time to send them out I'll post them. So it may be a while... :)
We had TONS of fun at her wedding. The bride looked AMAZING and my boys looked INCREDIBLY handsome. The above video is too cute. Sawyer dancing with his new cousin Maddison....whom I absolutely LOVE! So does Sawyer...obviously. And below we have Wyatt showing off some dance moves. He stood by the stereo like this half the time and the other half he was eating chocolate. The boys did SO well! Sawyer was the ring barer and I can't wait for those pictures!

Again, no photos yet, but here is a short clip so you can see the cakes I made. Tina trusted me enough to make her wedding cake. And the Grooms cake. Ken is a firefighter so that's why the grooms cake has flames...
Congrats again Tina and Ken!! Love you!
Oh. Tina. Is it weird that I used that pillow spray as perfume? It smells too good to only enjoy at night. Whatever. I love it.

Just a Day in the Life....

Kansas winters are VERY cold. And I'm a wuss. So I don't like to go outside. My boys riot when stuck indoors with nothing to do. So we have to get creative.
Sawyer brought me the block that you see in the background and started talking about the igloo and the "alligator". I was reminded of a fun activity that Sheryl H. had told me about. SO....to do:
Cut an apple in half and core it.
Spread peanut butter on.
Cover with marshmallows! Easy! He played with it for like an hour.
Just a typical Wyatt face. Yelling as loud as he can. Or singing? Never sure. It sounds the same.

Jim and I made some blocks....they're almost complete. I'll post pictures soon. But here is Sawyer involved in one of his favorite past-times...building really high towers. Sadly, they usually only last a couple of seconds. Wyatt destroys them as soon as he sees what's going on. Sawyer is such a good boy. He doesn't get too mad. He kinda just takes it. And rebuilds.

It's a long video. But I just want to show everyone how much he's talking now! His teachers at pre-school say he is ALWAYS the first to answer a question, the first to clean up and the first to help out. He LOVES school. He's also getting speech therapy home visits twice a month...so he's getting LOTS of help!
Oh. He's pretending there is an alligator in the igloo if you're wondering.

Luckily it's not steep...yet. I can only imagine a couple of years from now. Wyatt tried this and almost died. Oh boy.

I'm sorry you have to hear us talking about poo. But Wyatt cracks me up the way he tells us "no". It's more of a growl.

Is it horrible that I just keep video taping after he gets knocked down? Jim put double padding under their carpet just for this reason...

It's almost Christmas!!! Hope everyone has a GREAT one!! My soon to be brother-in-law gave me my gift early. I can't wait to install it on our crappy computer and show everyone what it is!
THANK YOU THANK YOU MR. BOND!!!!!

BFF's

Oh my boys. When they're not wrestling or playing and laughing, they are fighting. Luckily no punches have been thrown yet. Is that something I have to look forward too? Do I need to invest in some boxing gloves?
Here is a rarity...the two of them sitting still together. Watching Spiderman. Yes. It's the first time I've exposed my boys to anything remotely violent. And guess what? Sawyer LOVES Spiderman now. Actually...Sawyer is peeking over my shoulder as I type this saying "watch more Spiderman mommy!" He remembers what he was doing in this picture.

We had, most likely, the last "warm" day we're going to have for a while. So off to the park for an afternoon to soak it in.

This is my new FAVORITE picture of Sawyer. He and Wyatt crack me up. When I get the camera out now they both automaticaly say "cheeeeeese!" We were making homemade prezels, which by the way were AWESOME!
It's the perfect advertisement for Magleby's...

MISS EVERYONE!!

Love

I just love my boys. They share a room and at times it gets nasty...but usually it's moments like this...Sawyer will crawl into bed with Wyatt most nights, and MOST nights they don't fall asleep all sweet and peaceful. Usually it's a wrestling match to the death and I have to come in and separate them. Oh man I love these boys.

So I saw this idea somewhere...can't remember where. Sawyer LOVES LOVES LOVES this! I can't emphasize the love enough. He calls him Frosty. He's SO excited when I ask him to get something out of the fridge. This was a SUPER easy project too. Just used foam and hot glue. That's all you need! Oh. And magnets. :)

If you don't care about crafts...

...read no further.
So I've made an early New Year's resolution this year. And that is to re-use and up-cycle anything and everything I can. I'm always wanting to start all these crafts but need to remember to watch the budget, so I'm trying to use just whatever I have around the house.
Take this wreath for example. I know it's not spectacular...but it was FREE! Yay! I just used the wire from an old laundry hamper and stuff from my Christmas stash and then and old sweater (which I also re-did for Tina's wedding and I'll post pictures of that later)

I had all these ugly dollar store frames just sitting around that I decided to paint. It wasn't enough. So I found some beads and painted them black so I could hang the picture by that...still not enough. SO...I took that same old laundry hamper from above and cut out little circles, burned the edges, and made little flowers! I really like how they turned out and hung them up in the bathroom so that Jim could see his boys every morning before work. Oh. These were free too.

Ok. Last. Our dining room walls (actually all the walls in the house) are still quite bare. I'm slowly getting things up, but again, it takes money. So we were at this second hand shop the other day and I found these really ugly mirrors for 10 dollars. I had to have them.
So I painted these ugly plastic mirrors, and then glazed them...

As you can see...the other walls are still bare. But, I'm getting there! :)

Ok. Enough of that. Here is a video of the boys. They have become the best of friends in the last couple months and I LOVE watching them. They have so much fun together.
